Luis Suarez knows Lionel Messi best both on and off the field. The idea of Suarez at Miami, a reunion between the two, picked some traction but eventually failed. The Uruguayan forward is still in regular communication with the Argentine and often expresses his thoughts on Instagram. On this particular occasion, he spoke of the transfer of Messi from PSG to Inter Miami.

The iconic trio of Messi, Neymar, and Suarez from Barcelona is long gone. Neymar went on to play a significant role in Messi’s move to, and the short stint at, PSG. Now at Miami, the 7x Ballon d’Or winner is pioneering a renaissance in American soccer, with Suarez lauding his former teammate.

Suarez on Messi’s move to Inter Miami

Lionel Messi has changed the face of soccer in America and has already won the Leagues Cup with Inter Miami. According to ESPN,  the Gremio star said, “I think he [Messi] made the right decision to go and enjoy, have a good time, and one more demonstration that he is not only that but also keep winning, he won a trophy and now he is going to fight another one. That’s the mentality of a competitive and winning guy.” 

Leo may have scored only once in the league but is definitely making an impact. In the match last night against LAFC, Messi was involved in assisting 2 goals. Inter Miami won 3-1.

Suarez also spoke about Neymar’s move to Al Hilal and said that it could be due to various factors. Neymar earlier credited Cristiano Ronaldo for players choosing to move to Saudi. Suarez felt that one of the reasons Neymar may have moved was due to the exodus of high-level players. Another factor was PSG’s intent to move on from him.

Where is Messi heading to?

As Suarez felt, does the pressure actually come down on Messi? The man has moved to a highly sport-loving nation that is about to host the next Soccer World Cup. The rise in ticket prices and more celebrity engagements after his arrival indicates that he is being noticed. And the competitive spirit mentioned by Suarez will be put to the test for the next few years.

Suarez, on the other hand, feels that his body is starting to go down. He already mentioned a few days ago that age plays a big factor and currently fighting to give his best.

On the whole, Messi seemed to have kicked off in the United States. It may seem like the trio are in the injury time of their playing careers. the three already made quite an impact in their stint together. Looks like all three are scattered in different directions as of now.
