July 29 was intended to be a significant day for soccer great Gerard Pique. But unfortunately, the memories it brought were far from positive. From hearing fans chanting ‘Shakira’ to experiencing a “strange atmosphere,” the day turned out to be quite an unpleasant one for the Barcelona legend.
As the final of both his Kings League season 2 and the inaugural season of the Queens League approached, Pique anticipated a thrilling match at the Cívitas Metropolitano, the home of Atletico Madrid. Pique last year introduced this new format of soccer, which quickly became a favorite among fans. However, the atmosphere at the final was less than stellar. This even caused Pique’s colleague, Ibai Llanos, to express his disappointment and frustration.

Ibai Llanos cannot comprehend the Kings League fans
Ibai Llanos, a popular Twitch streamer and an integral part of the Kings League, was one of the league’s pioneers alongside Pique himself. Llanos is also the owner of Porcinos FC, a team that participates in the league. During a recent live stream, Llanos openly expressed his discontent with the crowd present at the finals.

Even though his team was not playing, he did felt the annoyance from the crowd towards the playing teams. He stated, “Strange atmosphere, guys, I really have to tell you that I ended up with a strange atmosphere”. He also gave quite a weird analogy saying, “I felt like grabbing my ba**s, I’m serious”.
Llanos further added, “I’m serious. I heard certain comments that… Guys, this is the King’s League, what is this? Yesterday they whistled and picked on everyone. I still don’t understand the Kings League crowd, why do they whistle at everyone in the Kings League?”
He also brought up the similar events that happened earlier this year at the Season One finals in the Camp Nou stadium. “But it’s strange, at the Camp Nou there were also historic whistles,” the streamer concluded. However, the strange atmosphere during the finals was not the only setback for Pique on this memorable day.

Gerard Pique couldn’t stand the ‘Shakira’ chants
Gerard Pique and Shakira ended their relationship over 400 days ago, but it seems that fans have not forgotten the events that led to their breakup. After the finals, where PIO FC won the Queens League and xBuyer Team won the Kings League, Pique, and other league presidents decided to celebrate at a club. However, during the after-party, Pique was confronted with chants of ‘Shakira’.

These constant reminders of his past relationship were undeniably uncomfortable and far from the celebratory atmosphere that was intended. Nevertheless, Pique had a response. Once the commotion died down, he stated, “I am also a world champion and you are nobody. Do something with your lives”. Following these unfortunate events, it’s safe to say, the momentous day had its fair share of disappointments.
