Lionel Messi has become a conversation starter in the US. The Argentine soccer legend has played eight games at Inter Miami and has won each one, with a mouth-watering 13 G+A. Not every game has been the cleanest win though. From nail-biters to penalty shootouts, David Beckham and the fanbase have witnessed it all. Recently, a well-known journalist poked fun at the Miami-based soccer club while agreeing with Beckham’s ‘like a movie’ comment.

The Englishman has been subject to a bit of criticism in the last few weeks. But he hasn’t taken any of it to heart and laughed it off. Apart from that, the center of attraction is obviously Messi. The 7-time Ballon d’Or winner’s bodyguard, who is an ex-navy SEAL, has gone viral too.

It is important to note that a few fans were a bit upset with David Beckham. But the Englishman was too engrossed in celebrating the recent and instant success his club has achieved with Messi. In response to the criticism, he said, “Every time Messi scores one of these goals, every time Busi makes one of these passes, every time Jordi makes one of these runs”.

“People say it’s a “fix” and it’s the biggest compliment anyone can give to these players. Because it’s like a movie,” said Becks. Interestingly, Beckham turned the ‘scripted’ and ‘fixed’ taunts of criticism into appreciation. He wasn’t wrong after all. The final of the Leagues Cup was as perfect as a soccer match could get. From a missed last-minute winner to a goalkeeper winning the penalty shootout, it was a treat.

Soon after Beckham’s comments, a popular journalist posted a sneaky tweet. Through that, he agreed with the English soccer legend but subtly took a shot at Inter Miami at the same time. On X, Alvaro Morales wrote, “Hahahahahahahahahaha…And Inter Miami, it keeps happening. Only in Hollywood. It’s a laugh”, as translated by DeepL. The Herons’ owner is still yet to respond to the Morales comment.
