In the summer transfer window, Joao Felix finally ended his Atletico Madrid nightmare. Following a subpar seasons with Chelsea and Athletico Madrid, he signed a season long loan for rivals Barcelona. However, the Portuguese forward has failed to consistently perform there as well. Amid the criticism, a former Atletico Madrid legend has pointed out that the 24-year-old should take inspiration from his national teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

It will be interesting what decision does Xavi take on the future of the forward in the summer. As far as Felix himself is concerned, the second half of the season is going to be very important.

In 2019, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid paid a record transfer fee of $130 million for Joao Felix. However, unfortunately, the Portuguese star never really settled in Diego Simeone’s team. This season with Barcelona, he scored and celebrated against them. Even before the goal, he has never really been a fan favorite. However, Atletico Madrid legend and former Sports director José Luis Pérez Caminero rates him very highly. But, he feels that the 24-year-old can improve. He said, “Consistency and someone to tell you the truths about football. I would advise him to analyze his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo. That mentality of wanting to be the best every day is what you need and should take note of.”
