Skipper Martin Odegaard could not contain his excitement as he was seen snapping pictures with club cameraman Stuart MacFarlane following the game. His actions did not sit well with multiple pundits who blasted him as immature! Well, it seems Pep Guardiola doesn’t have similar thoughts about the rival star.

The Manchester City head coach was asked about Martin Odegaard’s celebration during his press conference before the Arsenal game. Guardiola seemed somewhat annoyed at the question before stating that he doesn’t like speaking about such stuff. The Spaniard stated, “I don’t react to nonsense things. Take a picture. Take a picture. Honestly.”

Guardiola’s take is somewhat refreshing considering the amount of flak Arsenal players received after the game. With their team bagging a massive win in the title race, emotions were high, and players had the right to celebrate with their supporters. Martin Odegaard also fired back at his critics following their rant and addressed their concerns in the team’s media scrum.

Both Carragher and Neville noted that the Arsenal players should have gone back to the dressing room and celebrated rather than doing so on the field. However, this did not sit well with Martin Odegaard, who questioned the criticism during his press conference.

Odegaard stated, “I think everyone who loves football, who understands football, knows how much it means to win this game. And if you’re not allowed to celebrate when you win a game, when are you allowed to celebrate?”

Martin Odegaard’s feelings are surely understandable, considering the win saw Arsenal climb to the top of the table. The Gunners, after piping Liverpool, will look to do the same to Manchester City when they take on the defending champions this Sunday.
