Tottenham progressed to the next round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win against Burnley. However, the absence of Eric Dier grabbed the headlines. It suggests that Bayern Munich is progressing quickly with the deal. But Frank Leboeuf feels the sale does not benefit the Spurs manager. He said, “The thing is why Bayern Munich would need a Spurs substitute to get better; that’s the thing.”

He continued, “The reality of that fact is that when you come to Bayern Munich, it is because you are a top player. Notably, Spurs are not waiting around for the sale to be confirmed. They are aware that the January transfer window is short. Hence, they are making the most of it. They have already agreed on personal terms with Genoa defender Radu Drăgușin. The Premier League giants are also pushing to agree to a fee in the region of $25 million. However, the Italian side wants a payment of $30 million.

The deal could advance quickly in the next few days, as Eric Dier will hope to impress Thomas Tuchel during his loan stint. It will also allow him to impress national team manager Gareth Southgate ahead of the Euros this year.
