The age-old debate never gets boring. We have moved more than 15 years ahead, but people still ask about Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi. As the pendulum in this contest was never static, the intensity of the debates is what makes it more intriguing. In a recent discussion between Armando Broja and his highly talented teammate, the former ranked CR7 over the World Cup winner.

The two players chose different paths for themselves. One moved to Saudi Arabia, and the Argentine flew to the opposite side of the world for soccer. Despite both calling off the rivalry, the current generation doesn’t seem to give up.

Amid a tough season, Chelsea stars Levi Colwill and Armando Broja, seem to be having fun during the small Premier League break. In a recent TikTok video, Broja was seen answering Colwill’s ranking of his top ten players. And when he was supposed to guess the number-one-ranked player, Broja, without any hesitation, brushed aside Lionel Messi and chose Cristiano Ronaldo. When Colwill asked, “Who’s going to come next, though? because if it’s Messi, I’m gonna  put Messi first, and Ronaldo comes in, you’re gonna lose,” to which Broja said,Ronaldo is going first.”

The reaction could trigger a salty response from Lionel Messi’s fans, as the debate on social media never subsided. The two are still achieving great things, with Messi winning his 8th Ballon d’Or and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring 54 goals in 2023. Meanwhile, the time for all these discussions is only leading to their last dance in Riyadh.

It could potentially be the final match between the two icons, and the fans are curious. Scheduled for February 1st, the game could turn out to be a war despite being called a friendly. And Broja set it on fire from his side already. This isn’t the first time he’s done it.

Armando Broja already knows who the GOAT is

A few weeks ago, Broja had sided with the Al Nassr captain. In 2022, the star was the lone ranger among his five other Chelsea teammates to choose the Portuguese captain over Lionel Messi when asked who the ‘GOAT’ was. It looks like the star is inspired to score like the world’s highest goal scorer.

On the other hand, Broja’s stint with Chelsea has not been up to par. The player is not a regular starter for the club, as he has appeared just five times in the starting eleven this season due to an injury. Scoring just one goal, reports suggest that West Ham United are keeping an eye on him this January, who could be looking for a backup for Antonio. But the Cristiano Ronaldo admirer can also expect a thrilling season ahead for both legends.

One take at a time

Growing up in a sporting background, I found a passion for soccer through the remarkable 2002 World Cup-winning Brazilian football team. However, Ronaldo Nazario, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho are my favorite players and Lionel Messi is the GOAT.
