PSG had dismissed the rumor of Kylian Mbappe agreeing to sign for Real Madrid, claiming they weren’t aware of such a development. Anyhow, the revelation about Mbappe reaching an agreement with Los Blancos is still the talk of the town. Meanwhile, Marca reported that the club’s interest doesn’t solely revolve around the star player. This attitude from the Spanish capital has not gone well with ex-French player Christophe Dugarry. Furthermore, he understands that Madrid is not interested in ‘breaking their piggy banks‘ for Mbappe, and is unhappy about the same.

Kylian Mbappe’s potential transfer to Real Madrid has been a soap opera of sorts. Now, Madrid too is contributing their part to a drama that seems to be never-ending. Therefore, the backlash is honestly not a big surprise.

The Kylian Mbappe-Real Madrid saga took center stage in a recent episode of RMC Sports’ ‘Rothen S’enflamme’ talk show. Host, Christophe Dugarry was quick to give his two cents. Real Madrid’s attitude annoys me deeply. I think they’re showing off a bit too much. At some point, if they want Mbappé, they’re going to have to put their hands in the wallet. And now I hear them saying on the left and right that they’re not ready to break their piggy banks, that they’re not waiting for Mbappé… I think Real’s directors are showing off a bit,” said Dugarry, as translated by DeepL.

The Frenchman unleashed a wrath against Los Blancos because their attitude regarding Mbappe has changed lately. Per reports, Madrid’s rumored $165 million offer is a story of the past. Besides, the 14-time Champions League winners have already found their star signing in Jude Bellingham. And the prodigy Endrick is on his way. Hence, Madrid, unsurprisingly, eased their stance regarding Kylian Mbappe. But if they do it for too long, they could lose him to other competitors.

The rumor mill understands that Liverpool has joined Real Madrid in the race to sign the French captain. Kylian Mbappe has also not ruled out a potential switch to the Premier League, because he was not happy with the pre-agreement deal Madrid presented. Furthermore, the 25-year-old is a great admirer of Liverpool’s boss, Jurgen Klopp. Considering all this, a move to the Mersey side indeed looks plausible. However, the English club will struggle to afford his staggering $712,000 per week salary.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid is not willing to flaunt its deep pockets either, because the side is already brimming with talent. As things stand now, only Mbappe can put this soap opera to an end. The player will reportedly break his silence in a few weeks. Until then the drama goes on. And, Mbappe, Real Madrid, and Liverpool alike are contributing to the saga.
