Erling Haaland’s record at Manchester City is a joke! He was a central figure in City’s treble-winning side and bagged 52 goals last campaign. The fact that Man City paid only $62.6 million for Haaland is absurd. This deal looks like a real bargain in today’s market. While Man City might have hit the jackpot, Real Madrid might just regret their decision to ignore the Norwegian in favor of the Frenchman, Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid has been interested in the former Borussia Dortmund striker for the last few seasons. They have been looking for long term replacements for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale. While they might have completed their rebuild, they are still looking for a world class striker. That striker could have been Haaland but Real Madrid had someone else in their plans.

It will be interesting to see whether Mbappe commits his future to PSG or joins Los Blancos. On the other hand, Haaland will be looking to keep his sensational form this season and help City’s campaign on all fronts.

City also began their UCL title defense in style, defeating Cravena Zvezda by 3-1 at the Etihad. With the experience and depth in the squad, Man City are favorites again to clinch the league title this season.

City did lose their first game in the league this season away to Wolves and now face a stern test away to Arsenal. Without the likes of Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, it will be interesting to see how City approaches the game against the Gunners at the Emirates. But the Sky Blues will have their phenomenal No.9, who will look to haunt Arsenal at the Emirates again, just like last season.
