In the high-voltage clash, Al Ittihad succumbed to the might of the Al Nassr attack. Braces from Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane meant Luis Castro’s side romped to a 5-2 victory. While the Portuguese icon showed his evergreen class on the pitch, he also showed his big heart off it. Following the match, footage of the soccer icon sharing a touching moment with his rival has emerged viral. It’s safe to say that CR7 has once again captured the hearts of many.

The match against Al Alami also saw Cristiano Ronaldo facing off against his former teammate of 9 years, Karim Benzema. The Frenchman had a quiet game and even gave away a penalty. It’s not a match to remember for the Al Ittihad talisman.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s touching moment captures hearts

Al Ittihad player and Brazilian midfielder Cornado were accompanied by his two sons. After the match, the Brazilian and his family met the soccer icon in front of the dressing room. Cornado appeared to be in conversation with Ronaldo, seemingly about taking a picture. However, what followed next was quite unexpected. Cornado handed over his younger child to the Al Nassr man who fondly held her and even posed for a picture. Fans have always been a priority for CR7 and he has proved it once again.

The match also brought some personal milestones for the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner. He has now scored 53 goals in 2023, more than any other soccer player in the year. High on his heels are Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé, both with 52 goals. Moreover, he has now accumulated 19 goals in the SPL and is the top-scorer in the league. Not a poor season for a player who was not even nominated for the Ballon d’Or!

However, the result was not just a result of Ronaldo & Co’s brilliance. Luis Castro displayed a tactical masterclass and had an answer to every move plotted by his opposite number, Marcelo Gallardo.
