Though it has been 5 years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid, he continues to inspire the young blood at the former club. In that list is a Brazilian sensation who showed tremendous improvement in the past seasons from his goal-scoring prowess, which earned him the iconic No. 7 jersey. The 23-year-old has expressed on many occasions that the former Juventus star was his idol.

This devoted fan’s talent was recognized by his role model. CR7 sent out gifts as a token of appreciation for his hard work. Notably, there was also a lighthearted moment when the Portuguese superstar playfully teased this youngster about his absence from the latter’s ‘wall of legends’, showcasing the camaraderie between the former and current No. 7 of Los Blancos. Recently, the Real Madrid Star proudly took to social media to share the spectacular pair of boots gifted by El Comandante.

As per Nike, the boots have been designed to help players move fast on the pitch and create separation on the pitch. Considering Vinicius’s play style, it seems tailor-made for him.

Also, this is not the first time Cristiano Ronaldo has presented Vinicius Junior with a gift. Previously, following his injury against Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers, the Brazilian received the ultimate cheer-up present from CR7. The former Manchester United player presented the Brazilian with his signed Portuguese Jersey worn in the clash against Liechtenstein with a touching message.

These gifts would certainly have boosted Vinicius Junior’s morale significantly, considering it is from his idol himself. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old has not shied away from expressing his love for the mercurial Portuguese in the past.

Vinicius Junior’s ‘wall of legends’

The 23-year-old forward has a painted wall of sporting superstars including Ronaldo {Nazario}, Pele, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant at the gym of his home in Madrid. Back in April this year, Ronaldo visited Madrid’s training session in Saudi, and Vini Jr was spotted having a lengthy chat with CR7 at the Madrid club facility in a video released by Real Madrid’s social media. That’s when Ronaldo joked he was missing from the Brazilian’s home gym. Well, he has now added former Real Madrid star alongside current LA Lakers star LeBron James to the wall and he posted a few days post the cheeky comment. After their conversation, the two were seen exchanging hugs and it said that Ronaldo referred to Vinicius as “son” in a clear show of admiration.

Following the departure of Eden Hazard, Vinicius took up the iconic no 7 jersey. “I’m very happy and very grateful to be able to wear this number that Cristiano, Juanito have worn, great players”, said Vini Jr. The winger even uses CR7’s celebrations as seen in the Spanish side’s victory against Liverpool. The Brazilian looked at the sky with eyes closed and hands on his chest.

With Karim Benzema’s departure, the onus will be on the Brazilian attacker to be the talisman at the club. In the ongoing season, Vini Jr has scored 4 goals in 10 matches with 1 assist in La Liga. He has also proved his mettle in the UEFA Champions League as he scored 2 goals in 3 matches with 2 assists to his name.
