Cristiano Ronaldo had a rough day on the pitch in the AFC Champions League. The Al Nassr and Persepolis match ended in a goalless draw, with the Portuguese legend not being able to continue his goal-scoring run. However, a concerning moment came during the match about the soccer veteran’s health after an injury scare for which he had to receive physical therapy.

In the match, Al Nassr failed to get the win against the Iranian side. But despite that, the Saudi club has still managed to qualify for the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League. While this is undoubtedly a huge accomplishment, it certainly wasn’t the best day for the Portuguese striker.

The match had already taken a negative turn for Al Nassr when their center-back, Ali Lajami, received a red card, leaving the team down to 10 men. This forced the team to focus more on defense, which ultimately resulted in Cristiano Ronaldo being unable to find the back of the net. But it was the injury scare that overshadowed the outcome of the match.

During an aerial challenge, Ronaldo went for a header and collided with the Persepolis goalkeeper. The clash left CR7 in visible pain as he clutched onto his neck. Medics rushed onto the pitch to assess the situation, but the soccer veteran made the brave decision to continue playing.

After the match, the initial diagnosis revealed that he had suffered a moderate bruise in the neck. In order to aid his recovery, the 5x Ballon d’Or winner immediately underwent physical therapy. This would enable him to heal and get back on the field as soon as possible.

This incident raises additional concerns regarding the individual’s health, especially considering that in the previous match, he was spotted clutching his back. Fans can only hope that this injury is just a minor inconvenience and that he will be able to continue playing in the upcoming matches. The importance of his presence becomes even more pronounced as two players from Al Nassr are already set to miss their next Champions League match.

Who is set to miss Al Nassr’s next Champions League match?

During the match against Persepolis, Al Nassr experienced their first setback within just 20 minutes. As mentioned earlier, center-back Ali Lajami received a red card for a reckless ankle-stepping incident. As a result, he will be unable to participate in the next match against Istiklol. Another player who will also be absent from that match is one of their star summer signings, Marcelo Brozovic.

Although Brozovic only received a yellow card during the match, it marked his third yellow of the tournament. This means he too will be unable to participate in the next Champions League match. In light of these two suspensions, having Cristiano Ronaldo remain fit and available for the match becomes even more crucial. Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
