Theo Hernandez has established himself as one of the top defenders in recent years. However, this wasn’t always the case. There was a time when the Frenchman was struggling to find a break into Real Madrid‘s first team. The AC Milan star touched upon his time at Santiago Bernabeu during a recent interview commenting on his relationship with ex-Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo. Hernandez was full of praise for the Al Nassr skipper claiming the Portuguese did his best to make him comfortable in a foreign environment.

The Frenchman has established himself as a rock-solid part of AC Milan’s defense since joining the club in 2019. The Frenchman was present in an interview with Spanish media outlet AS as he commented on various moments from his career. The twenty-six-year-old star during the interview walked down memory lane while speaking about his time with Real Madrid.

Hernandez, while discussing his stint with Los Blancos, praised Cristiano, stating, “Cristiano [Ronaldo] is more than an example. He is a reference. An icon of this sport. He helped me a lot when I arrived at Real Madrid when I was just 19 years old. He was one of the players who was most attentive to the youngest players, trying to make us feel as comfortable as possible. I learned many things from him and it was a privilege to share a dressing room.”

The Frenchman’s recent performances have attracted the attention of some of the top European clubs with Premier League side Chelsea reportedly interested in his signatures. While Theo Hernandez is enjoying his time at San Siro, the player is open to a move to England, with the defender hoping to feature in the Premier League at some point in his career.
