Al Nassr faces a significant impediment in the lead-up to their AFC Champions League Round of 16 match against Al Fayha. Following a thorough investigation into the actions of Cristiano Ronaldo‘s three teammates, it has been determined that they failed to join the Saudi Arabia camp ahead of the AFC Asia Cup. As a result, all the players are reportedly facing the consequences of suspension and fines. The implicated players include Sultan Al-Ghannam, Nawaf Al-Aqidi, and Mohammed Maran from Al Nassr.

Earlier this month, an inquiry was initiated to ascertain whether there was a deliberate violation in response to a call-up for national team participation.

A recent determination instituted by The Professionalism Committee imposed monetary penalties on these 3 athletes. Firstly, Sultan Al-Ghannam has reportedly incurred a fine totaling approximately $53k because of his appeal to be excused from participating in training at the national team’s camp. However, he managed to avoid suspension.

On another note is Mohammed Maran, who will reportedly face both a 1-month suspension as well as a fine of roughly $53k after requesting dismissal post-final listing announcement within the national team’s camping group. Concluding this trio list is Nawaf Al-Aqidi whose punishments reportedly tally up to an approximated $80K financial imposition and a five-month suspension.
