Without a doubt, Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham are a heavenly combination. The Deadpool star has been in the news for quite some time after winning the National League with Wrexham. It was truly a proud moment for the tiny but ancient Welsh soccer club.

Since buying the club, the Hollywood duo has together pumped in major amounts of money to upgrade different facilities at the club especially the turf of their stadium. Recently, the comedic actor was talking about the different Wrexham-related memorabilia that he keeps on collecting.

Along with plucking out a tiny portion of the pitch, Reynolds also proudly took away Ben Foster’s match jersey.

All about Reynolds’ secret Wrexham museum

In a recent conversation on the RobRyanRed podcast, the host made an interesting observation. He questioned the Deadpool star regarding the mementos that he keeps collecting throughout his Wrexham journey. He funnily also asked whether his wife Blake Lively has allowed him to build a ‘Wrexham Museum’ at home.

With a smile on his face, Reynolds responded, “Blake and the girls are the engine for it half the time. I mean my daughters are the ones that are always reminding me, ‘Dad grab some of the pitch when you walk across it again’”.

“But I also recognize that the Racecourse ground is in certain senses holy ground. I like bringing a little piece of that home with me every time. But, yeah, I’m not really building a man cave so much. I think at this point it’s just my house. Stuff is going kind of wherever I choose, but Wrexham, it’s one of the greatest pride of my life, so why wouldn’t I?”.

Interestingly, Reynolds talks about plucking Wrexham’s home turf just months after he spent a hefty amount to renovate it.

Reynolds has spent thousands trying to better the facilities!

At the start of the 2021/22 season, Reynolds and McElhenney were looking around the old Racecourse Ground. Along with the Kop stand, many other aspects of the training complex also required upgradation. Along with the club’s gym makeover, the Hollywood duo decided to relay new turf for the betterment of the players.

As mentioned in Welcome to Wrexham: Season One, they shelled out about $120K to install a new pitch at the Racecourse ground. However, the owners later realized that the surface was defective. Unwantedly, they had to shell out more than $240K to returf it yet again.

As of recent times, everyone at the club is preparing to play a league higher next season i.e., the EFL League Two. The arrival of Ryan Reynolds saw the Welsh soccer club secure promotion for the first time in fifteen years.
