England started their World Cup campaign by scoring six goals past Asian giants Iran. Five different players made it to the scoresheet for the ‘Three Lions’: Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka (2), Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, and Jack Grealish. While their captain Harry Kane couldn’t make it to the scoresheet, he did create two goals in the game. However, in the 2nd half, he suffered an injury, leading to a big worry in Gareth Southgate’s camp.

There were doubts over Harry Kane’s recovery in time for the USMNT game. England faces the USMNT two days after Thanksgiving. The USMNT camp would hope to celebrate after winning the game against England.

Gareth Southgate provides Harry Kane’s injury update ahead of USMNT clash

Many were wondering about Harry Kane’s status ahead of the USMNT game. It is an important game and a win could steer the ‘Three Lions’ to the knockout stages. Southgate, in a recent interview, revealed that Kane will be available, which is bad news for the USMNT fans.

“Harry is fine,” Southgate told BBC Sport.

“He had a scan [on Wednesday] to make sure everything is fine,” Southgate added.

The 29-year-old injured his knee in the 2nd half against Iran. Southgate had to substitute the Tottenham striker due to an injury scare. Kane had just assisted Marcus Rashford for the team’s fifth goal, minutes before being substituted. He was replaced by Callum Wilson, who then went on to set up Jack Grealish for England’s sixth of the night vs Iran.
