Real Madrid’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe has seen another twist. Mbappe stayed in France with PSG earlier this summer, despite being heavily linked with a move to Spain throughout the summer window. Now, Madrid and their pursuit of Mbappe has witnessed another hitch. This time due to agent regulations passed by FIFA.

In spite of Los Blancos having funds in place to sign Mbappe and another player, Mbappe remained in Paris with PSG. On this note, however, Mbappe’s mother, 49-year-old Fayza Lamari would likely have to forgo being the French superstar’s agent.

As reported by Spanish media outlet Marca, Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari, who has been his agent throughout his career so far, is not on the listed FIFA Agent Platform, in the directory of official FIFA agents. This entails that the 49-year-old mother to her son Kylian, cannot represent him or any other soccer player as an agent. Furthermore, she cannot negotiate a contract or even charge commission fees.

The Marca report further states that Lamari must get her license by May 2024 by passing the relevant and required exams to become an official FIFA-listed agent. So at the moment, should Mbappe secure a move to Real Madrid or elsewhere or renew his contract with PSG, his mother Lamari would not be able to be involved or charge any agent fees.
