Liverpool had an impressive end to the last season, which helped them finish in the 5th position. They have carried the same energy into this season as well. They currently sit second in the Premier League table. This has caught the attention of ex-Manchester City legend Nedum Onuoha, who has termed them to go on a long winning streak.

He said,” I think Liverpool have the greater potential to win like 10 games in a row this season, whereas I think Arsenal could go 10 unbeaten, but it’s that element of perfection that I think Liverpool do have within them, so I think I’d probably have to say them for now.”

Jurgen Klopp will hope that his team continues to win games. They are currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak. They have drawn only three games and won the other four. In these seven games, they have scored 16 goals and conceded only seven goals. Whereas, City have not won any of their last three league games.

The Reds will face bottom-placed Sheffield United. Whereas, Manchester City will face an in-form Aston Villa. A result in favor of Liverpool could strengthen their position in the league standings.

Liverpool did not have such a start to their last season. However, it looks like their signings this summer have made a big difference to their fortunes in the new season.

Jurgen Klopp’s summer signings making the noise for the right reasons

This summer saw Jurgen Klopp lose senior players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to the Saudi League. But, to compensate for that, he also brought in Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister, and Wataru Endo. These new signings have brought a new midfield revolution to the club.

There were times last season when their aging midfielders would get exposed, particularly against top clubs. However, the new midfield has certainly brought stability and creativity. Whereas, the involvement of Trent Alexander Arnold in the midfield has also helped the Reds play more attacking soccer against teams sitting back.
