It’s pretty hard to fathom that even Kylian Mbappe can be questioned for his performances after godly standards. The PSG star has been a stalwart for his team, scoring crucial goals since his arrival. Yet, as he approaches his last phase at Paris Saint-Germain, a former French player called out Mbappe’s entire season as ‘worst’ after a disappointing performance against Germany. But where could the French player have made a mistake to incur the complaint?

Bearing multiple responsibilities, Kylian Mbappe is on a mission to prove his commitment to PSG. Additionally, the star is the poster boy of France after receiving the captaincy. But former PSG player Jerome Rothen called him out by saying, “He’s having the worst season of his career in the game. For a captain, he didn’t set an example against Germany,” speaking after the 2-0 loss to Germany. Rothen also felt that his performance that day reflected his entire season.

Meanwhile, Mbappe has been in a beast mode for PSG. Despite an initial tussle with the club, the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner netted 38 times in 37 games this season and created eight assists. Mbappe is close to his last year’s feat of 41 goals, but it is not numbers that Rothen seems to be worried about.

Jerome Rothen, who also criticized Lionel Messi for using PSG, called out Mbappe’s mentality on the pitch in his last season at PSG. Rothen also said, “In terms of stats, it’s amazing, but for me, he’s having perhaps the worst season of his career in the game. He’s too absent from the proceedings, he misses too many things,” claiming Mbappe of lacking complete dedication. Nevertheless, PSG and Mbappe will try to make the best use of the 2018 World Cup winner before he leaves.

Mbappé will arrive at the tie motivated because it is his last year with that shirt, and he will do everything possible to win the title,” stating his threat right from their upcoming battle.
