Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland are two of the most exciting young players in soccer. In an era where elite number nines are hard to come by, Mbappe has been on Madrid’s radar for more than two seasons now. But after Jude Bellingham’s big-money move from Dortmund, and PSG slapping a mammoth price on the striker, a move for the Frenchman could not materialise.

Surprisingly, the president of the Spanish club has now acknowledged that there is a dire need for a long-term striker at the Bernabeu, and he has chosen between Haaland and Mbappe.
