Colombian superstar Shakira was present at the Latin Music Festival hosted by Billboard in Miami this week. The singer, during the show, talked about her career as an artist. She recently made her triumphant return to the industry, with three record-breaking tracks this season.

While chatting with Billboard, Shakira also touched on raising her kids while being a single mother. The star commented that it was turning out to be difficult working with younger artists, who have different time schedules.

She said, “When [my sons] come home from extracurricular activities, I have to run from the studio to be there. It’s not easy because I’m working with young artists and they don’t go to sleep until 5 in the morning and they don’t wake up until 2 in the afternoon so I get to the studio when they’re just getting up, half-yawning.”

While the singer has been enjoying her return to the music industry, this resurgence could be cut short. Based on reports from Spain, a group of prosecutors have firm evidence against the singer, claiming she owes the Spanish government over $20 million in taxes.
