It’s going to be the end of an era come June 2024. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has announced his official departure from Anfield, with Klopp set to leave Liverpool, following the ongoing campaign. The German head coach had a decorated spell with the Reds leading the club for the last nine years. However, all good things must come to an end. Now, while Klopp is set to leave Liverpool, it does not draw the curtains on his managerial career.

The Liverpool manager could be back in style following his departure from Anfield. Top clubs across Europe would be interested in his signatures, and it will be intriguing to see what’s next for the German tactician. While the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Die Mannschaft seem like a potential destination for the manager, it wouldn’t be surprising if Klopp takes a break from soccer. Yet, what are the striking opportunities out there?

1. Borussia Dortmund

Nothing’s better than a homecoming. Jurgen Klopp made a name for himself at Signal Iduna Park, and a trip back to Dortmund could be a fascinating move. The Yellow and Black have evidently struggled to follow Klopp’s departure from the club, with the side failing to get their hands on the Bundesliga title even once. The German had a great run with the side from 2008 to 2015, helping them bag the Bundesliga title twice. Klopp could be interested in walking down memory lane with his former side once he’s done at Liverpool.

2. Germany (national team)

Klopp has been linked with a move to the German national team for the vast majority of his career. Many expected the Reds’ manager to move to the national team in 2022, with his contract running out. However, Klopp renewed his deal with Liverpool, which saw the Die Mannschaft stick with Hansi Flick before sacking him to appoint Julian Nagelsmann. With Klopp no longer bound to Liverpool come summer, this could be an ideal opportunity to jump ship.

3. Barcelona

With Xavi currently under immense heat, it wouldn’t be surprising if Barcelona parted ways with the Spaniard in the coming weeks. The former Barcelona star has failed to replicate the results from last season. Jurgen Klopp could be a great replacement with the manager known for his distinct style and man management. However, Klopp’s contract could be an issue for the side with the club under severe financial woes.

4. PSG

The French champions are amongst one of the top sides in Europe. However, despite all their recent prowess, the side has failed to leave their mark on European competition. PSG is still in search of a continental silverware, and Jurgen Klopp’s appointment could help the side take the next big step towards significant success.

5. Bayern Munich

It seems like a big far-fetched option. Klopp is regarded as a cult figure amongst Dortmund fans, and a move to their arch-rivals would be a bitter moment for the fans. However, the Bavarians are known for securing the best talent at their disposal, be it a player or a manager. With Thomas Tuchel currently facing the heat at the club, the defending Bundesliga champions could give them all to secure a deal with the German tactician.

While all these clubs seem like a great destination for the German manager, Klopp could likely take an extended break from the game. Klopp talked about being tired while addressing Liverpool supporters during his departure announcement, and joining a new club just months after his absence would leave fans in a sour mood.
