Imagine having one of the world’s best players as an additional option. Kylian Mbappe has been knocking at the doors of the Bernabeu for quite a while now. Yet again, potentially one of the most dangerous moves in club soccer has become the center of attention. After Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup triumph last night, the president of the club, Florentino Perez, cleared out the air on the potential move for Mbappe.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has been toiling for a transfer since 2021. Complications aside, even after his contract expired in 2022, the player chose to ditch Real Madrid, and extended his stay in Paris instead.

Is Florentino Perez expecting Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid?

There are not many occasions when you see one of the most successful European clubs go behind players. And after once again being asked, Florentino Perez feels that this is the time to celebrate rather than talk about the transfer. According to Sport, Perez said after the win against Barcelona, “After this match and winning the Super Cup, this is not the day to talk about this. It is the day to congratulate the players we have, not the ones other teams have.” Is the club president distancing himself from this seemingly perpetual conversation?

A couple of weeks ago, Real Madrid gave the 2018 World Cup winner a deadline to decide whether to join them. Madrid’s attack is already in order, which Perez is aware of. And with this regard, he continued, “We have scored nine goals in two games against rivals of the stature of Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona.”

He concluded on the matter, saying, “We all see that the Real Madrid fans are attentive to their players; we only have to see how happy they are.” Real Madrid also boast the services of Vinicius Jr., who set the Spanish Super Cup on fire, playing in Mbappe’s position on the left wing.

Vinicius Jr. powers Real Madrid to the Spanish Super Cup

Real Madrid thumped archrivals FC Barcelona 4-1 in the finals of the Spanish Super Cup yesterday. Unleashing a whirlwind, Vinicius Junior scored the first goal in under 7 minutes before whipping out the Siu. Subsequently, Vini went on to complete a hat trick in the first half, with his second coming in the 10th minute and his third a 39th minute penalty.

This win for Los Blancos likely gives Perez enough gas to underplay the value of Mbappe. Be that as it may, Madrid’s offense is already clicking, with the team thrashing Atletico Madrid 5-3 in the semifinals and now putting four past the reigning league champions.

One take at a time

Growing up in a sporting background, I found a passion for soccer through the remarkable 2002 World Cup-winning Brazilian football team. Watching the Premier League where Thierry Henry-starring ‘Invincible’ Gunners and Sir Alex Ferguson’s glorious Manchester United had ruled, I had my heart set on Arsenal. However, Ronaldo Nazario, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho are my favorite players and Lionel Messi is the GOAT.
