Turkey recently witnessed one of its worst disasters in probably a generation. Millions of people have been severely affected by the same. Thousands of families are separated from each other and still stuck under the rubble. Rescue operations and teams are working throughout the day and night to try and save as many lives as possible.
Renowned celebrities and high-profile individuals are also offering monetary support to the victims. Pop singer Shakira recently posted a heartwarming story regarding the earthquakes in Turkey.

She urged her fans to donate and help those thousands of families who are struggling in Turkey and Syria.
Shakira urges her fans to help victims in Turkey!
Shakira has recently been in the public eye for different reasons. Her personal but public feud with her ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique, seems never-ending. Many a time, the Colombian star has posted and spoken about sensitive topics. She shares an open relationship with her fanbase. This time, the singer urged everyone in her gigantic fanbase to help the victims of the earthquake. The fact that many families still cannot find their family members still sends chills down everyone’s spine.

Shakira reposted an official video from the United Nations which was basically a plea for help. She also reiterated, “The human suffering from this epic natural disaster should not be made even worse by man- made obstacles. Aid must get through from all sides…without delay”.
She continued, “It’s urgent that leaders of member-states make funding available immediately to help the millions of children and their families who have lost everything”.

The Grammy Award winner pleaded to all of her fans to try to offer some monetary help to the victims. She requested her fanbase to unite as one to help the ones in need. Unfortunately, the earthquakes in Turkey also impacted the soccer universe to a certain extent. A few soccer players also lost their lives and loved ones during the natural calamity. However, the biggest heartbreak of them all was Christian Atsu.
Many soccer players, pundits, and celebrities spoke about the untimely passing of the Ghanaian soccer star.
The soccer world is still hurting after Atsu’s untimely passing
Christian Atsu was one of a kind. He rose to fame in the English Premier League when he played for Newcastle United. Many people, including former Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez, described the Ghanian as a very fun-loving and jolly individual. The fans had never seen a single picture in which he wasn’t smiling. The Ghanaian soccer star’s final goal before his death has also gone viral on social media.

Newcastle United was one of the first soccer clubs to post about their former player. Fellow Ghanian teammate Mohammed Kudus also garnered millions of eyes with his tribute. After scoring a goal for Ajax in the game following Atsu’s death, he revealed his inner shirt inside his jersey. It was a plain white top with ‘RIP Atsu’ written on it. Kudus then went down on both his knees and paid tribute to Christian Atsu.
