Amid all the attention towards El Clasico, there was another such epic battle that was going on between Wrexham and Notts County FC. Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham aced the competition this time, living up to its reputation. However, keeping aside his achievements, Reynolds took a moment to show appreciation for his rivals.

Yesterday’s win came with very important three points for the Hollywood-owned club. For a promoted side to do well in a new league is something commendable, knocking at the doors of another top finish.

Last season’s National League was a heartbreak for Wrexham AFC. However, this year, they made a strong comeback, winning and entering League Two. Now the club has an even bigger reason to celebrate as they won 2-0 over their old rivals, Notts County. However, their boss, Ryan Reynolds, went ahead and praised the losing team, calling them a fine club. On Twitter, he wrote, “.@Official_NCFC is an incredible club and they always bring it. Hats off to them now and always..”

Yesterday’s game was almost level till the 73rd minute when Eliott Lee’s goal put the Reds ahead. The second goal came soon after the first in the 76th by Ollie Palmer, which was the final nail in the coffin for the Notts. The Wrexham coach Phil Parkinson considers this one of his top wins, considering the injuries that struck the team.

Quite a similar journey for Wrexham and Notts County

Both the clubs have had a similar journey for a couple of years to date. In the 2021-22 season, they competed for the league promotion, although Wrexham played the playoffs then and Notts County in 22-23. Both have reached EFL League Two this season and have been fighting top teams to perform really well and giving a fight for the seniors of the league.

The win for Wrexham was pretty big, considering their current position in the league. The two teams are going hook for crook without giving any breathing space with very little separating them on the table. Notts County, even after the loss, is placed above the Welsh team. Both of them have the same number of points but are separated by the number of goals scored. However, both are 5 points behind the toppers Stockport, who has 35 points in sixteen games.
