Cristiano Ronaldo had a tremendous start to 2024, scoring 4 goals in 4 games for Al Nassr. But the star’s jubilant streak may have come to an end after the performance against Al Ain in the AFC Champions League. Despite having less possession, the UAE team won the game 1-0, while Ronaldo was left struggling to find his feet. In one instance, Ronaldo, while attempting a dribble, lost control of the ball. And this led fans on social media to go berserk and reminisce about Eden Hazard’s comments about him.

Hazard a couple of weeks ago said, “Cristiano is a bigger player than me but, in terms of pure football, I honestly don’t think so. Neymar, maybe. After that, he’s no better than me.” Hazard’s comments implied that Ronaldo was great at scoring goals, but in terms of being with the ball, he was better, and Messi was the greatest. Hence, fans took a chance to bring those comments back. The original version of the video was deleted on social media, so here’s another version recorded by another fan.

Hence, we look at this user’s comment along with a few others.

But that wasn’t all that fans were focusing on. These were some of the other netizens who gave their take candidly. This fan aimed at trolling his GOAT status.

The clip was posted on X (Previously Twitter) which also shows Cristiano Ronaldo dangerously going to the ground after a challenge from the opponent. However, one of the X accounts felt that he was diving and expressed with a laughing emoji.

Meanwhile, there was one support for the Portuguese captain, who was tired of people’s trolls. This fan claims they were Messi’s fans and feels they can’t sleep when Ronaldo plays.

Meanwhile, this fan being annoyed, takes a dig at the Argentine captain instead. Posting a video in which Messi pushes players in the MLS, he tried to play the counter, claiming that the star tried to bribe the referee.

One person feels that Cristiano is in the same league as him after he slipped during the attempted dribble.

Another account brings Messi back into the picture. This fan felt that the player was still lost in the chants of his rival that filled the stadium before the start of the game.

Overall, it was a bitter pill for the largest fanbase in soccer to swallow. More than the result of the game, it’s the expectation of their star icon that made them disappointed. But some of the rival fans had no mercy trolling even his legacy, but who knows he would come stronger next time.

Cristiano Ronaldo aims for a stronger comeback, issuing a challenge to Al Ain

Al Nassr will be disappointed after losing out on many opportunities in the game. The club from Riyadh had more attempts on target, but yet could not score even a single goal. But Cristiano Ronaldo is ready for revenge in the 2nd leg already. Reports suggest that Ronaldo warned the Al Ain fans, saying, “See you in Riyadh after the game.” But the advantage is clearly with the Emirates club as they won their away last tie in Saudi in 2020.
