Ryan Reynolds‘ reactions to Wrexham results always bring a bit of hilarity. And the same was apparent again after the Red Dragons recently beat Sutton United 2-1. This comes shortly after Ryan Reynolds’ 47th birthday on 23rd October, in celebration of which, Rob McElhenney opened a park in the county of Wrexham dedicated to Reynolds.

The park, aptly named “The Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park”, is located in the heart of Wrexham City Centre and continues the ongoing birthday gift gestures between both co-owners, after Reynolds gifted McElhenney a commemorative urinal. On this note, shortly after Wrexham’s last-gasp win over Sutton United, Reynolds took to social media to post a story about the result.

Reynolds’ birthday couldn’t have been more memorable as Rob McElhenney opened a park in his colleague’s name. As per the video posted on Instagram by McElhenney involving Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt, the park will have a playing area for kids, pop-up restaurants, and a movie screening area apart from other facilities.

But for Wrexham on the pitch, it was a frantic game against Sutton United, one which went right to the death until Wrexham bagged a winning goal late on.

Wrexham beat Sutton late on as Paul Mullin & Elliot Lee got on the scoresheet

Wrexham’s game against Sutton was certainly a rather nail-biting one, especially late on. The Red Dragons took the lead in the 14th minute after Paul Mullin scored a 25-yard curling effort from just outside the box that flew into the Sutton goal. This was Mullin’s 3rd goal of the season for Wrexham after missing out the first two months of the new season after picking up an injury in preseason.

Sutton then equalized in the 59th minute after Aiden O’Brien slotted a cross from out wide for the visitors. However, things would be left until late on after Elliot Lee scored a blistering volley from outside the box in the 89th minute after the ball dropped to him off the head of a Sutton defender. Lee chested down and volleyed first-time and struck emphatically with his right foot to give the Welsh club the 3 points on the night. This was Lee’s 9th goal of the season for Wrexham as his remarkable scoring streak continues.
