A revolution is well underway at Al Nassr. The Saudi club has paved the way for innovation and dreaming big. After signing Cristiano Ronaldo, the league has ventured beyond, buying many players and changing the face of sports in the Gulf. In a camp of Portuguese stars that involves Ronaldo, Otavio, and coach Castro, another comrade in Vasco Curado has joined their ranks as the head coach for Al Nassr’s basketball team.

The soccer diaries of the club, meanwhile, may seem to move in a zigzag way, but that is part of the sport. Its competition with the best clubs in Asia is well underway, with a great start to the Champions League.

Hoops or goals, it’s all the same for Cristiano Ronaldo

You may know Cristiano Ronaldo as the master of scoring goals. The Al Nassr star has piled up more than 850 goals in a career spanning over 20 years. However, the star looks like he can handle other sports, and quite decently at that. The enigmatic forward was seen playing basketball in a recent tweet made by the official handle of the Portuguese national team.

Ronaldo dropped a perfect basket, which will make even the best ballers proud. On the other hand, on the soccer pitch, Ronaldo has been excellent this season, scoring 16 goals and providing 5 assists. The Portuguese star also won two consecutive Player of the Month awards in the Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo already have a long-term friendship, it looks like. The maestro’s son also recently joined the Riyad club’s under-13 team.

Ronaldo is a very enthusiastic sportsperson and takes a lot of interest in his son’s interests too. The Portuguese connection for Al Nassr went a mile further. The franchisee is reaching out to another sporting personality from Portugal but for basketball this time.

Al Nassr gets a new coach for Basketball

You may know Al Nassr to be one of the top contenders in Asian soccer; however, the group has also had a basketball team since 1955.

After boosting men’s soccer, they have now hired a Portuguese coach, Vasco Curado, to coach their basketball side. Curado is an experienced campaigner with multiple spells with Tunisian and Egyptian teams.

The Al Nassr franchisee is involved in only two sports, which are basketball and soccer. Known as the Al Nassr BC, the team has existed since the inception of the Al Nassr group in 1955. The club now plays in the Saudi Premier League and will look to make similar progress as its soccer wing.
