The world of sports is full of superstars all over the world. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, etc have now become global superstars. However, their popularity is not just restricted to people that follow soccer. Players on these levels have now become role models and an inspiration to the modern generation.

Many celebrities in the past have spoken about their favorite sports stars. One of them being Jenna Ortega. Jenna Ortega rose to fame at a very young age. Known as the modern-day ‘Scream Queen’ Ortega has acted in quite a few horror movies. She recently appeared in a web series called ‘Wednesday’.

Jenna Ortega idolizes Lionel Messi

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Ortega happened to mention that she almost switched her career from acting to becoming a soccer player. She stated, “I actually almost stopped acting to pursue soccer instead.”

The interviewer seemed a bit puzzled after hearing that answer. Ortega then said, “Yeah, it was that much of a thing. I was any position in the forwards and occasionally midfield because I like to run”.

Ortega has also publicly revealed her admiration for Lionel Messi. She has described Messi as the ‘GOAT’ – The greatest of all time. Ortega has also previously posted pictures of her wearing the No.10 jersey, the jersey number that Messi once wore at FC Barcelona.

The former Barcelona veteran has been playing soccer for over two decades. It’s safe to assume that Messi has inspired millions all over the world. Messi is currently representing Argentina at the FIFA World Cup, but this may be his last international tournament.

However, fans are not the only ones that get inspired. In many instances, we hear icons from one sport talk about how an icon from another sport once inspired them.

One such example is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Zlatan is another soccer legend. Zlatan is popular for the stark comments that he makes. He has never shied away from putting his opinion out there on the world’s biggest superstars. However, if he wants to criticize a particular incident, he never holds back.

The Swede has previously revealed that he has idolized Muhammad Ali since his childhood. He considers Muhammad Ali as his role model inside and outside the sport as well. The quality that Zlatan admires the most is that Ali had the capability of talking big and proving it as well.
