Not many days have passed since Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr stumbled against Al Hilal‘s might in the Saudi Pro League’s Riyadh derby. Without superstar Neymar, Al Hilal plundered Al Nassr 3-0. Though Ronaldo was visibly frustrated on the pitch during the match, he is yet to break his silence on the heartbreaking loss. However, Al Nassr Boss Luis Castro has now laid bare his thoughts on the team’s forgettable matchup against Al Hilal.

After Al Nassr’s defeat, coach Castro unleashed his wrath on match officials for biased refereeing. CR7 too was unhappy with the way the game was officiated. Now, however, Luis Castro seems to have taken responsibility for Al Nassr’s lackluster show in the Riyadh derby.

It seems coach Luis Castro’s anger on match officials has subsided. In a match where stalwarts like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Otavio failed to find the back of the net, their boss has shown the candor to blame himself for the shocking defeat. “I am the one who bears the entire loss, and I am responsible for what happened in the match, and I am not satisfied with the loss, and we should have won the match,” said Luis Castro.

Castro’s admission will leave soccer fans more eager to know what Cristiano Ronaldo has to say about that unfortunate day. But the 38-year-old has chosen to maintain silence for the time being.

Like most elite athletes, Cristiano Ronaldo too is an active social media presence. The Al Nassr star never fails to lay bare his thoughts after a tough-fought game. However, save for sharing his thoughts, Ronaldo has not posted anything on his social media handles after losing to Al Hilal. Besides, the superstar has not addressed the media after the disappointing clash. Perhaps the shocking result, coupled with a controversial disallowed goal, has rendered Ronaldo silent.

Al Nassr is readying themselves for redemption in the upcoming AFC Champions League fixture against FC Istiklol Dushanbe. However, their centerpiece, Ronaldo is reportedly going to be dropped from the roster for this clash. This move from the Saudi giants is perhaps aimed at resting the veteran for far more crucial clashes. It seems that fans will have to wait longer to hear from Ronaldo. If Al Nassr manages to salvage a win, Ronaldo would probably break the silence and congratulate his teammates for rendering the much-needed respite.
