The soccer world knows the Vanarama National League for Wrexham AFC. All the credit goes to the owners of the world’s third-oldest soccer club, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Hollywood owners have brought glamor to the league. Now the club is fighting for promotion with five games to go.

However, the major obstacle Wrexham faces to winning the league and getting an automatic promotion is Notts County. Notts County is going neck-to-neck with the Reynolds’ club all thanks to their talismanic striker, Macaulay Langstaff, who is getting compared to Erling Haaland.

Notts County striker is getting compared to Manchester City star striker

Langstaff has taken the National League by storm. He has outscored last season’s Golden Boot winner and Wrexham star Paul Mullin this season. His early goal-scoring exploits this season drew comparisons with Manchester City star Haaland. The Notts Couty striker recently contemplated the comparisons between him and the City star.

Langstaff said“Obviously, I’m playing at a lower level than Haaland, so any comparison with him was just a bit of fun, but at the same time, being mentioned in the same sentence as him gives you that bit of confidence.”

“I haven’t got Haaland’s physical attributes, but I can replicate the positions he takes up in the box because he scores a lot of goals at the back post–and if it’s good for him, it’s good enough for me,” Notts County star added further.

Langstaff comes from a humble background. He started as a ballboy at Middlesbrough. The 26-year-old has set a record for most goals in a single season in the National League. He has 41 goals so far and can add more with four more games to go for Notts County. Langstaff is gearing up for the biggest game of the season as Notts County will take on Wrexham on Monday.
