While Erik Ten Hag is doing everything to rebuild and start a new era at Old Trafford, Manchester United,s results keep disappointing him every other day. Recently, the EPL giants tasted defeat against Borussia Dortmund in what was a scintillating affair.
The match ended 3-2 with the Red Devils faltering miserably by the end of the first half, and conceding two quick goals in under a minute. The lackluster performance by United’s players irked manager Erik Ten Hag, leading to an outburst in the post-match presser.

Manchester United boss lashes out frustratedly at players after Dortmund loss
After a sudden drop in intensity, the Germans took quick advantage as Donyell Malen sneaked in a brace at the cusp of halftime. The Red Devils started the second half with a bang, with Antony equalizing in the 52nd minute after the opener by Diogo Dalot. However, their downfall started when they made wholesale changes after the 60th minute.
The new players on the pitch couldn’t hold the ball well and, as per Ten Hag, they didn’t press well. Dortmund, just like earlier, capitalized on United’s woes with Moukoko slotting in the winner after Wan Bissaka lost possession.
Erik ten Hag is not HAPPY at all!
"The last half an hour, it was bad, a poor performance. They didn't follow the rules at all, not in pressing, not in building-up or when attacking. They were 11 individuals on the pitch. That wasn't good at all."🇳🇱 pic.twitter.com/qUaskS1FqQ

As expected, the gaffer was unhappy with the loss and hence expressed his displeasure in the post-match presser. “There were giveaways and that was annoying. But the last half an hour, it was bad, a poor performance. They didn’t follow the rules at all, not in pressing, not in building up, or when attacking. They were 11 individuals on the pitch. That’s not us, we have to keep control, keep responsibility on the ball and it was the same for the 3-2. That can’t happen and it’s unforgivable, even if it’s a friendly,” slammed the United coach as per Manchester Evening News.
The Red Devils have had a polarizing pre-season so far
Manchester United started their pre-season brightly with slender wins against Leeds United and Ligue 1 side Lyon. The Red Devils then pulled off a resounding win against Arsenal, making the fans optimistic about the season. However, their performances derailed ever since.

In the last three matches, the Red Devils have lost against Real Madrid, Wrexham AFC, and Borussia Dortmund owing to lackluster performances. This has irked the fans, considering the gaffer has been backed well in the transfer window so far.
