The bitter reality between Dani Alves and Joana Sanz doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Sanz decided to part ways with the soccer veteran earlier this year. The breakup between Alves and Sanz surely hasn’t been the most pleasant sight to watch. Back in January, the authorities took him into custody for an incident that happened during New Year’s Eve. The incident happened in Barcelona at an exclusive nightclub. Since January 20, the soccer veteran has been in prison. Weeks after the incident, his partner filed for a divorce.

Just hours ago, she gave the fanbase a glimpse of what she deals with on a daily basis. She posted a screenshot of a nasty death threat from an individual. The threat ended with a bone-chilling line. It quoted, “We are authorized to kill you”, as translated by DeepL. Alves’ ex-partner didn’t say much. She added just a few more words to the Instagram story.

She wrote, “And I keep having to deal with this”. From the looks of it, there is a certain section of the fanbase that hasn’t taken kindly to her filing for divorce. Reports suggest that Alves’ legal representation has attempted to bail him out of prison, but hasn’t been successful so far. While dealing with the reality of the situation, both parties await the trial. At one point, Alves went on a hunger strike in prison.

In the letter, she revealed that it was hard to accept reality. She couldn’t believe that the person she tied the knot with ‘could break her into a thousand pieces’. She confessed that she still loves him. At the same time, she was quick to set her boundaries. Sanz quoted, “But I love myself, respect myself and value myself much more,” as translated by DeepL.

“Forgiving relieves, so I stay with the magic and close this stage of my life that began on 18/05/15”. That date was precisely the day when they started dating each other. Two years later, they took their relationship to the next level with a secret wedding. Till the trial actually takes place, it remains to be seen what happens next with them and Alves’ soccer career too.
