Marcelo Gallardo decided to take risks by resting several first-team players during their game against Damac. However, the decision backfired as they lost their game 3-1. Al Ittihad after their loss, suffered an even bigger setback. The club has announced that their Luiz Felipe suffered a muscle tear during their game against Damac. This will keep him out for six weeks. The Italian will undergo therapeutic and rehabilitative treatment. Felipe’s injury comes ahead of their game against Auckland City in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The injury is quite serious as the defender had to withdraw in the 13th minute. Luiz Felipe has impressed for the club after his move from Real Betis this summer. The 26-year-old defender has remained an ever-present part of the team by starting all 11 games after signing with the club. The Italian defender will also miss the important game against Al Nassr. In terms of other injury scares, the club has no concerns regarding Karim Benzema who did not play in the game against Damac.

Karim Benzema has recovered fully after an injury scare
The former Real Madrid man suffered an injury in their 4-2 win against Al-Khaleej. He scored in the game through a penalty. The injury raised the concerns of the fans. But, to their relief, the club has confirmed that Karim Benzema has joined the group training sessions.

The Saudi giants have also received other encouraging recovery news. Brazilian striker Romarinho and Madallah Al-Olayan have also recovered from their injury issues. Additionally, Sultan Al-Farhan, Ahmed Bamsoud, and Abdulrahman Al-Aboud only focused on conditioning exercises.
