Andolovski’s signing serves as a new beginning for the Patrick Mahomes-backed NWSL club. With a brand new stadium set to open in upcoming March, particularly designed for women’s soccer, the KC Current is looking forward to making a bold statement. And the return of Vlatko Andonovski is a key event of this plan, given his successful history in the NWSL and the experience he gained with the USWNT.

Andonovski will be aiming to pull back from World Cup humiliation

Andonovski’s journey with the US Women’s Soccer team was full of highs and lows. Under his mentorship, the USWNT clinched a bronze medal at the Olympics, but also suffered a humiliating defeat on the world’s grandest stage. As USWNT crashed out of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in a shocking round-of-16 clash, Vlatko Andonovski announced to step down from his role as the head coach. However, after a good amount of rest and refreshment, the 47-year-old will be aiming to come back stronger to mark his new journey.

Though Andonovski left his role with the USWNT on a bitter note, his ability to develop talent and shape players makes him an invaluable asset. With the majestic support of part-owner and NFL legend Patrick Mahomes, the Current will be aiming to regain their winning ways in the NWSL.
