Lynn Williams who has often made the headlines for her on-field brilliance makes the news for life updates. After clinching the winner in USWNT’s final friendly against the Netherlands ahead of the international break, the star forward has another reason to celebrate. Williams is set to tie the knot with her longtime fiancé, and ex-basketball player Marley Biyendolo.

The Big Brother winner took to Instagram to share photos of their outing in Disney Park, with the USWNT striker proudly displaying her sparkling diamond ring. Biyendolo captioned the post “This is so funny HAHAH wow.. what a time 💍”. On the latest episode of Futbol Americas, journalist Cristina Alexander revealed more details on the occasion. 

“She just told me after she had that interview that she’s getting married in 4 days, after an overseas international break,” said Cristina, adding despite the tough fixtures, Williams knew she’d make it through the friendlies unscathed. “She’s getting ready to go home, snore it off, put on her wedding dress, and marrying her fiance, I mean if that’s not a queen, I don’t know what is”

The pair began dating during their days at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. During the pandemic when Biyendolo was filming Big Brother in Australia and Lynn Williams playing the NWSL, the duo successfully navigated through an 18-month long-distance relationship. With her recent announcement, Lynn Williams has capped off a year to remember, adding a diamond to the Olympic Gold she won earlier at Paris 2024. 

Despite the stellar year she’s had, the NWSL all-time top scorer expressed frustration after her final game with the USWNT this year. Despite scoring the winner, Williams opened up about her frustration during the post-match press conference. 

“Not our prettiest game” – Lynn Williams 

Even though the scoreline favored Emma Hayes’ side, they struggled for the majority of the game and got lucky thanks to 18-year-old Veerle Tooske Janna Roos Buurman who found herself scoring on both sides of the pitch. “I’m gonna say this was not our prettiest game of soccer ever. And sometimes that’s how games go,” said Williams who scored her 22nd goal for the Red, Blue, and White. 

Emma Hayes continued her perfect record ever since taking the USWNT in June 2024. She has 13 wins and 2 draws and her side looks like favorites to win every major tournament that they took part in. Without the ‘triple espresso’ of Sophia Smith, Trinity Rodman, and Mallory Swanson, Lynn Williams did the job for Hayes. 

For now, she will be surely looking forward to the upcoming international break with her soon-to-be husband, Marley Biyendolo. While no wedding photos have been shared yet, fans are eagerly awaiting updates from the couple, as their journey together continues to make headlines.
