Soccer fans are in for a treat as Manchester City is set to host arch-rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. The Cityzens will be desperate for a win, as the side is currently one-point behind table-toppers Liverpool. With a lot at stake, the team needs all hands on board heading into the fixture. However, it seems like the team will have to head into the game without some of their key names. During his press conference, Pep Guardiola provided a major update on Manchester City’s injury news.

The Manchester City boss seemed confident of his team’s chances during the media event. City have been on a roll in their past few games and will surely have an upper hand over their opponents. The team absolutely has the quality to make it through despite missing out on some of their top names.

Guardiola, during his press conference, provided an update on winger Jack Grealish. The Englishman picked up a groin injury during the team’s 6-2 win over Luton in the FA Cup. Guardiola, while commenting on Grealish’s status, stated the player will be out from the game against United with no set deadline on his return. He further noted that the player could miss out on international fixtures in the coming months.

The Spaniard stated, “He has to recover well to use him as much as possible. I didn’t speak to Gareth [Southgate].”

While Jack Grealish’s injury is a tough blow for the Cityzens, the side already has multiple names who can be deployed in his position. However, the team could have to take serious precautions when it comes to Kevin De Bruyne. Reports suggest the midfielder is still not 100% despite his showcase display against Luton.
