We are in for a treat this Saturday as defending FA Cup Champions Manchester City take on Chelsea. The two teams have had bangers in their encounters this season. None of the sides has taken an upper hand over their opponent, with the two games ending on 1-1 and 4-4 score lines. With City now out of the Champions League race, Pep Guardiola‘s men would love to retain their remaining two titles!

However, Chelsea will not make this a simple job for the defending champions. Mauricio Pochettino’s side has been on fire as of late, with the side heading into the game following a 6-0 win over Everton. It would be a mistake to consider the Blues the underdog in the fight, especially with City coming into the game after a toiling fight against Real Madrid.

This could be ‘Cold’ Cole Palmer‘s night. The former Manchester City academy star has turned into Chelsea’s messiah this season. Palmer has bagged 24 goals in his 40 appearances for the side and continues to be their star man. Manchester City could have a tough time putting a brake on Palmer and his teammates, especially with their defenders on their hind legs. With all things in consideration, Chelsea could produce a massive upset and finally get the win over Manchester City.

Manchester City vs Chelsea: Team Updates

Pep Guardiola is likely to have his entire squad at his disposal. However, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Manuel Akanji will be assessed before the game, with the team uncertain about their fitness. Haaland and De Bruyne were subbed off against Real Madrid, with the two complaining about muscular and ligament issues, respectively. John Stones could be back in action after missing the game against Madrid. Stefan Ortega could be back in the sticks for the game as he takes over Ederson.

Mauricio Pochettino is not that lucky with the manager without some key names, heading into the game. The team will be without Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Lesley Ugochukwu, Wesley Fofana, and Romeo Lavia, with the players out due to a sideline injury. Robert Sanchez, meanwhile, is out with sickness as Petrovic takes up his role between the posts.
