“More than a teammate, a brother that football gave me.” This is how Cristiano Ronaldo described Marcelo following the latter’s departure from Real Madrid in 2022. Currently, plying their trade in Saudi Arabia and Brazil respectively, the duo have still kept their ‘brotherly’ relations intact. At least, that’s what the social media activity portrays after CR7 announced the newest addition to his fragrance collection.

The Portuguese superstar posted a reel to showcase the launch to his 600 million followers. However, what caught the fan’s attention was the comment made by the legendary full-back. Marcelo had replied, “Send one home here” with a laughing emoji. More than 15,000 fans liked the comment, many even taking the time to reply to Marcelo. The Brazilian was not the only soccer player who found the reel interesting.

Cr7’s Al Nassr teammate Anderson Talisca also found the reel amusing and funnily commented, “Smelly is he” and went to tag teammate Alex Telles in the process.

The video did not have any dialogue and showcased CR7 admiring the smell of a light blue-colored perfume. Just as Cristiano Ronaldo takes in the scent, the scene cuts to him having a dip in the ocean. Although not clear at first, the caption reveals the idea. It states, “Fragrances can take you back to a specific time in your life journey. This one takes you to my Origins” It seems he remembered his time in the waters of the Madeira Islands.

In just 19 hours, the video has garnered over 1.7 million likes. This bodes well for Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be hoping that the newest addition will enjoy similar sales to the hugely successful ‘fearless’.
