Nicknamed ‘Le God’, Matt Le Tissier has always been a very outspoken person. Especially during the pandemic, his comments on social media raised millions of eyebrows across the globe. At one point, he was regularly making the headlines. Well, he’s back again and he recently appeared for an interview on GB News. During the interview, he reflected quite a bit on his actions and words from the past.

Le Tissier frequently opposes the common narrative. He had strong views and opinions on the COVID vaccines and the worldwide lockdown in general. Previously, he was in hot water for his views on the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. He recently revealed that his words had caused a major public uproar in his personal and professional life. His 15-year association with Sky Sports ended in August 2020.

Next was about what his family thought about him. He quoted, “I guess in the early days probably my family and close friends thought I’d gone a bit mad because I was kind of going against the narrative and they thought I had mental health issues, quite frankly”. Further, he mentioned that some of the close people in his life have realized that he was talking a lot of sense.

He continued, “I knew that I didn’t and thankfully I stuck to my guns and what’s transpired over the last two or three years – a lot of them have now come to realize that I wasn’t mad and that I was actually talking a lot of sense”. Controversy has been no stranger to Le Tissier. Back in 2022, he quit his ‘Ambassador’ role at Southampton over his views on the war in Ukraine.
