The sports world was taken by surprise recently when Forbes revealed their list of the World’s most profitable sports teams. Many teams have been growing in terms of their market value throughout the years and two of them are NBA titans Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors.

These two teams have long been considered to be amongst the most valuable teams in the world. While the Lakers are worth around $5.9 billion, the Warriors are also worth an astounding $7 billion. Despite these facts, they both took a back seat as Tottenham Hotspur Football Club rose to the podium in Forbes’ recent list.

Tottenham Hotspur, a London-based soccer team, has made huge waves. They have been ranked third in the most profitable sports team list by Forbes. The soccer club has generated $414 million in operating income over the last three years.

Despite a market value of only $2.8 billion, Tottenham surpassed both the Lakers and Warriors. The Warriors sit at 7th position with $348 million generated while the Lakers sit at 8th with $333 million. The Spurs have surpassed the NBA giants in terms of profitability, despite the fact that both teams have more value.

Despite having some of the highest market values in all of sports, both teams have failed to reach the same level of success that Tottenham has achieved.

So, what allowed Tottenham to reach such heights despite having a lower market value than the NBA giants? Well, their recent big collaborations can be a big factor in this.

Tottenham Hotspur partnered with F1

Tottenham Hotspur has long been known as a leader in sports entertainment. In February they signed an impressive 15-year partnership deal with Formula 1, which will provide fans with an incredible motorsport experience inside the club’s gorgeous 62,850-seater stadium.

The Premier League club already hosts NFL and boxing fixtures. And they have also shared intentions of entering a bid to host the Super Bowl in 2026. However, this may prove challenging due to certain factors. Nevertheless, until the end of 2027, Spurs plan to host two games per season.
