The ex-United boss used this as a chance to fire another subliminal at ten Hag, claiming, “I have to be respectful. History is history. I have to be respectful. Cristiano [Ronaldo] can never be on the bench. When he retires, when he doesn’t retire, he has to play!”

Fans were quick to relate this to Erik ten Hag, considering his unpleasant relations with Cristiano Ronaldo. The Al Nassr skipper lambasted Erik ten Hag following his exit, claiming the Dutchman did not treat him with respect and thus he had to respect him in return. Jose Mourinho has been vocal about his frustrations with ETH, adding the Manchester United board used to sack other managers for less!

The former Manchester United boss launched a tirade against Erik ten Hag earlier this month, criticizing him for his time at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho claimed the Manchester United board did not give him the same level of time and he could have produced better results if he received similar support.

The Portuguese tactician claimed, “What Erik ten Hag has in his time at Manchester United I didn’t have. I didn’t have that level of support. I didn’t have that level of trust. So, I left sad because I felt I was in the beginning of the process. In some moments, I felt if they trusted me and believed in my experience, things could be different.”

Well, the Dutchman did not take it lying down with the United boss claiming no boss apart from Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson has got the players they wanted during the transfer window.
