The dream of Neymar to win the most coveted FIFA World Cup with Brazil remains. However, at the moment, he is out of action because of the surgery he had for his ACL injury. Amid all this, a 1994 World Cup winner believes that the constant injuries are a big issue for the whole Brazil team.

The Brazilian star is also out of the Al Hilal squad for the rest of the season. Hence, it is clear that his club at least does not expect him to get fit for the rest of the season.

During the recent World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay, the Brazilian star unfortunately tore his ACL, resulting in surgery, and now he is trying his best to recover. However, Brazilian legend Romario believes that Neymar’s constant injuries are slowly becoming a crisis for the national team.  Romario said, “If you have an injury just like Neymar had throughout his career, especially during the World Cup and other great players also have it, this is a serious problem, not only for the player himself but even for the Brazilian team itself.” In the end, he reiterates that the Al Hilal star does have a big status in the national team.

At the start of the season, Neymar recovered from an ankle injury he picked up during his stint at Paris Saint Germain. This injury also kept him out for a few games even after signing for Al Hilal. Although he always recovers and contributes significantly to the game, it is clear that Neymar’s injury issues have been a major headache for the team. But even on his day, with full fitness, the opposition defense will struggle to tackle him. This is the reason the Brazilian fans keep hoping to see him fit for the 2024 Copa America.

The Brazilian star will need to prove his full fitness before the start of the Copa America

The Copa America tournament in 2024 will start on 20th June. So, the Brazilian does have ample time to recover from his horrific injury. Nevertheless, if he does not get fit, his World Cup 2026 dreams will definitely hit a roadblock. The Brazil national team is also missing his skills and talent. They lost another game in the World Cup qualifiers against Colombia after going ahead in the first 10 minutes.

There is still a possibility that the Brazil soccer federation will appoint a permanent coach before the 2026 World Cup. Therefore, getting fit for the Copa America would give the chance to prove himself to the new coach. Romario also hopes that Neymar recovers quickly despite his criticisms. He said, “He is a guy missing from the Brazilian team. As much as I have said here he has not reached that high level. I also attribute this to the lack of a World Cup that he has not won yet. But, Neymar is a guy I still love. So speaking from my own experiences, I have hope that he can solve our problem in the next World Cup.”

These concerns from Romario on Neymar would very well resonate with all Brazil supporters. There are games where he has single-handedly helped the national team win crucial games.
