With just days left before the end of the summer transfer window, it seems like one can finally put Kylian Mbappe’s case to rest. The French superstar has, for long, been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid, but it seems like fans might have to wait for another year to see Mbappe play at the Bernabeu.

Despite multiple reports, Kylian Mbappe’s fellow teammate Gianluigi Donnarumma believes that Mbappe could stay with the French side. In an interview following the game, the PSG goalkeeper touched down on his admiration for the Frenchman.“It’s a pleasure to play with Kylian, it’s fantastic. Is he going to stay? Yes, yes, for sure, for sure,” said Gigi.

Despite managing to hold on to Mbappe for another season, PSG has a lot on their plate. With Kylian Mbappe’s contract expiring in the summer of 2024, the club needs to hurry if they want to keep a hold on their star player. As of now, the French World Cup winner has declined to sign any contract extensions, with plans of walking out of the club as a free agent in 2024.

Paris Saint Germain desperate to extend Mbappe’s contract

While PSG might have managed to keep Kylian Mbappe in their ranks this season, the scenario could take a complete 180 next season. The French superstar has refused to sign a contract extension with the club and will likely walk out as a free agent next season.

PSG drove a nail in their own coffin after they slapped a massive $270 million price tag on the player, throwing away any potential suitors. The club tried all tricks for the player to sign a new contract by keeping him away from the club but were forced to bring him back into the mix following a couple of poor outings.

Based on reports, PSG has tried to persuade Mbappe to sign a new contract with a guaranteed transfer clause, but as of now, the player has declined any negotiation. If Mbappe leaves as a free agent next summer, it could be a massive blow for PSG, who will see one of their most prized assets join a rival side without any transfer fee.
