Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham, visited New York City FC for their third MLS game on Saturday. Miami came into the game with two consecutive home wins and it was their first away game of the season. Although they suffered their first defeat of the season to a first-half own goal, the horrific incident from the game in the second half became the talking point of the game.

Miami captain and midfielder Gregore got injured in the 73rd minute of the game. The former Miami player Matias Pellegrini tackled Gregore, who had to take a wheelchair as he wasn’t able to walk. Fans were concerned for the Miami captain after the game.

One of the fans wrote“Gregore heading to the locker room in a wheelchair, prayers up for a good MLS prayer.” There have been no further updates on the injury so far, and the Miami coach has confirmed they are waiting for an update from the medical team. Meanwhile, fans are concerned for the Miami captain and are hoping that it wasn’t a serious injury.

Another fan thinks it’s looking bad for the midfielder as he was in tears after the tackle by the former Inter Miami player Pellegrini. One of the social media users labeled the injury as “awful” and thinks Gregore is the most underrated player in the MLS. It wasn’t a perfect night for the midfielder, according to a few fans, as the club lost the match and the player got injured.

Fans feel it’s a heartbreaking injury for the Miami club and are praying for the player to regain fitness soon. Miami’s coach thinks it will be a tough situation and is hoping for other players to step up in the absence of their captain.

After two home wins in their opening two games, Miami suffered their first defeat of the season to New York City FC. The only goal came in the 36th minute when Christopher McVey turned the ball into his own net. The Miami club dominated the game, but was not able to score despite having two great chances in the first half.

Miami will travel to Toronto next week for another tough game. It will be interesting to see how Miami copes without Gregore. They will hope to put on a show against Toronto next week and get all three points from the game.
