The French capital has been in turmoil ever since Kylian Mbappe’s decision surrounding his future. Mbappe has confirmed that he will not be extending his contract with PSG this summer, making him a free agent in June. His decision is an enormous blow for the Parisians, with the club building their sporting project around the French World Cup winner. However, it seems like head coach Luis Enrique isn’t thinking much about it, despite his team being set to lose their biggest superstar.

Luis Enrique addressed the media following his team’s latest encounter against Rennes. During the post-match press conference, the PSG head coach commented on his team’s performance while discussing the future following Kylian Mbappe’s departure. Enrique stated, “We have to get used to not playing with Kylian; sooner or later it will happen. When I consider it appropriate, he will play or not play, like all coaches do with their players.”

He then added, “I want maximum competitiveness for next season. I want every starting player on this PSG team to think that this is a great opportunity. This is what I am looking for this season and for next season.”

While Enrique’s comments are understandable, PSG will have a huge issue on their hands after replacing Kylian Mbappe following his departure. The player has been the team’s top goal scorer across all competitions, bagging 32 goals and 7 assists from his 32 appearances. While PSG did their utter best to hold on to the player, it seems like the Frenchman has his mind set on his dream destination.
