Wrexham AFC is the talk of the soccer world currently. The Welsh team has beat many odds to get their second consecutive promotion to the English soccer ladder. After a hard-fought battle to reach League One, the team seems to have some requirements before the next season commences. The message is clear to the owners about things getting more competitive from here on and the need to strengthen the squad. However, it isn’t the better signings that the players requested. In a recent revelation, they wanted something extravagant.

With a deserving result this season, seems like the players are not holding their expectations back. According to talkSPORT, Wrexham defender, Ben Tozer requested Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to arrange for a bigger celebration than the last one in Las Vegas. He was reported saying, “I mean, all we’ve said to them is, ‘Try and top last year if you can!’ That’s it,” calling it a minimum.

Tozer has been an integral part of the Welsh club’s journey after the new owners took over in 2021. And the player is aware of how the club environment is with all the jubilations and fun that comes after their success. Last year, the National League winning squad had an unforgettable time in Las Vegas after getting into League Two after 15 years with a record 111-point triumph.

Last July, the Hollywood owners approximately spent half a million dollars for the post-victory extravaganza, leaving players in euphoria. The whole squad partied at the famous Hakkasan Nightclub in the town, which coincidentally was celebrating its fourth anniversary allowing only people who had tickets. Additionally, the players were claimed to have been ‘treated like royalty,’ with fireworks and a famous DJ James Hype playing some fine music.

Wrexham deprived of League Two title after promotion

The squad followed it up at the Omnia Nightclub in Caesars Palace with Steve Aoki’s party. Even though the constant upgrade to higher leagues in such a short span is incredible for Wrexham, the club may feel it lost out on winning the title. Stockport has sealed their League Two title victory after the victory against Notts County, leaving Wrexham with no chance of getting to #1.

Wrexham dropped crucial points, losing three games in their last 12 encounters. On the other hand, Stockport went undefeated during this phase. Nevertheless, the Red Dragons have already proved how lethal they could be.

Already expecting it to get promoted to the Championship, additional reports suggest that the club will compete well in the higher leagues owing to their commercial success. With all the positives, it looks like the Hollywood stars could give in to the requests.
