It’s a lucky day for Sergio Aguero. Not only did his former side thrash Manchester United in the derby, but the striker also bagged some fortune. The former Man City gunman had struck a deal with the sports betting company Stake in 2022. And Aguero will be more than overjoyed with that decision.

A joyful day for Aguero turned out to be one of anguish for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, as results are not the only thing going against him. Ten Hag’s side started well and was in the lead in the 8th minute thanks to a Marcus Rashford stunner. However, the second half was a completely different ball game.

Sergio Aguero via his Instagram shared a bet he made on Stakes. As per his story, the striker made a bet that the match would have more than 2.25 goals. And he was proved spot on. The match ultimately saw 4 goals, with a brace from Phil Foden and a late effort from Erling Haaland beside Rashford’s effort. This means that Aguero who made a bet for $10,000 will get $12,500 in return! Not a bad Manchester Derby for the Sky Blues legend.

Although Aguero didn’t attend the match, he was following and even tweeted a reaction in praise of Phil Foden. Foden was the difference maker for the Premier League Champions. The Englishman scored twice in the 56th and 80th minute to win his side the game. With the brace, Foden now has 6 goals in the Manchester Derby, with only Sergio Aguero having scored more.

Meanwhile, Aguero’s successor at the club, Erling Haaland had a mixed game and one of his misses was trolled heavily on social media. However, the major talking point of the match remained ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag received his 4th yellow card of the season. No other Premier League manager has received more. However, on this occasion, it must be said that the Dutchman was slightly unfortunate.

Marcus Rashford and Kyle Walker were contesting for the ball. Walker managed to get the better of his compatriot and Rashford went down to the ground. This was a foul in the eyes of the Dutchman and he snapped when the freekick was not awarded. He lost his cool shortly and got carded. Unfortunately, Phil Foden equalized soon after and this wouldn’t have improved his mood by one bit.
