Inter Miami cannot catch a break. Injuries have had an upper hand over the team during the ongoing pre-season. The side is already at the bottom of the barrel, with Lionel Messi currently out with a muscular injury. However, things have taken a turn for the worse, with veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets forced off the field after he was seen limping after taking a hit on his ankle during the team’s ongoing clash against Vissel Kobe.

It is a tremendous blow for the Herons, with the team set to kick-start their MLS campaign on the 22nd of February. The David Beckham-owned franchise is scheduled to face Real Salt Lake in the league’s season opener at the DNV x PNK Stadium. Fans will hope that Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets can recover in time before the highly anticipated clash.

Inter Miami’s woes continue to grow stronger with each passing day. With Lionel Messi already on the sidelines, the team does not have room for any more mistakes. However, it seems like the Herons have found themselves in a terrible injury loop. According to journalist Michelle Kaufman, “Sergio Busquets goes down after hit to the ankle, walks off gingerly, heads to locker room.”

While there is no official update on Busquets’ injury, it seems like things could be something serious. The second half of the contest saw Tata Martino decide to sub Busquets off, with Yannick Bright taking his spot in the midfield.
