There are some players in the soccer universe that garner respect even from their rival fans. One such player is Sergio Ramos. The Real Madrid legend has topped his career with numerous accolades while playing for Real Madrid. In 2019, the iconic defender unveiled a documentary series based on his life. The first season of ‘La Leyenda de Sergio Ramos’ was released in 2019, followed by the second in 2021.

It’s safe to say that Ramos entered Michael Jordan territory after the second season. ‘The Last Dance’ based on the NBA pro’s life is one of the most well-received documentaries across the globe. The fans went gaga after watching the legend’s 15-year journey in the soccer universe.

Just before Season two, the former Real Madrid captain once spoke about how beautifully his life had panned out.

Ramos’ documentary is as elite as Michael Jordan and The Last Dance!

Before its release, fans already started comparing the second season to ‘The Last Dance’ which was based on Michael Jordan. Several fans also claim that this documentary covers Ramos’ life through an accurate cinematic lens just like The Last Dance.

The second season of ‘La Leyenda de Sergio Ramos’ was mainly based on his experiences during the lockdown period. Several soccer fans struggled to cope with life after being unable to get onto the pitch for several months.

But nothing seemed to affect the legendary defender. He continued to focus on his fitness regimes and spent some quality family time. In an exclusive interview with Variety, Ramos once said, “I can say that my life has been a dream, and I have fulfilled any aspirations or goals I’ve had so far. For that I’m grateful”.

He continued, “Nowadays in professional sport, it’s not enough to just do ordinary training, an athlete must live for the sport”.

The Spaniard also then revealed that his family means everything to him. He described his family members, especially his wife, as ‘anchors’ who have helped him keep his feet grounded. Ramos claimed that his family was his main motivator and source of inspiration because his wife never always told him what he wanted to hear. He revealed that his wife was someone who made him better continuously.

The former FIFA The Best winner is currently living his life in France. He’s been quite a decent addition to the Paris Saint-Germain squad but hasn’t been the sharpest due to injuries and other factors.

What is Ramos planning to do after soccer?

In the same interview, Ramos spoke about what he planned to do after his soccer career. Inspired by his documentary, the interviewer asked him whether working in the movies was of any interest to him. He chuckled and said, “You know, the truth is I don’t know, but I’m certainly not dismissing the possibility. It’s a world I enjoy working in and I’ve learned a lot from”.

The World Cup winner then also hinted that he wouldn’t intend on leaving the soccer universe after retirement. He quoted, “After that, we’ll see. What I can say, for sure, is that I can’t imagine a future without soccer. Whatever I do, it will be combined with soccer in some way”.

These statements left the fans quite confused because the PSG star has indirectly said that he wants to act in movies and stay in the sport at the same time. However, his fans have always wished the best for him.
